What's the difference between an o-ring chain and a standard chain?

Standard motorcycle chains are very reliant on constant upkeep and servicing, including lubrication and cleaning. O-ring chains, however, have a rubber seal between the rollers and the links across the whole chain which provides a barrier and holds the factory grease inside the rollers to apply sufficient lubrication. Not only do the o-rings keep the chain lubricated for longer, they also prevent dirt and other grit from clogging up and wearing out your chain links.
